Making matzah

By Elizabeth Nisbet

Cookery club made matzah and as you can see they really enjoyed it.

It is easy to make:

Ingredients:

4 cups flour (can be half white and half whole wheat); 1 1/2 cups water; 2 tablespoons of olive oil (optional - oil will make it softer, more like a tortilla; without oil, you'll have a cracker).

Instructions:

Combine ingredients and knead for ten minutes.

Roll into a ball, cut in half, then cut each half into 8 pieces. Roll out as thinly as possible into ovals, pierce with a fork several times, to eliminate air holes, and place on baking sheet covered with greaseproof paper.

Bake at your oven's hottest temperature for about 5 minutes, or until slightly browned.

And that's it.
